Arne Jacobsen created the ground-breaking industrial furniture called Ant (3107), a stackable chair with a chrome frame and a wooden seat. After graduating from university, Arne Jacobsen worked in the architectural firm of Paul Holsoe. In 1931 he founded his own design studio, which he directed until his death in 1971. From 1956, he was also Professor at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. Arne Jacobsen worked in the fields of architecture, interior decoration, furniture, textile and porcelain design and he stood out in all areas with his clear styling and successful combination of form and function. Some of his creations went on to become "classics" during his lifetime.
